FOSTER CITY, Calif., August 16, 2004 -
Furthering its leadership as the premier provider of solutions that
secure, manage and extend instant messaging (IM) and peer-to-peer
(P2P), FaceTime Communications today announced the company has
achieved record sales performance in Q2 in key vertical markets:
education, energy, financial services, government, insurance and
technology. Leading corporations such as Southern Company, and USAS
Technologies, LLC and a second Fortune 500 insurance and finance
company are now leveraging FaceTime technology to secure and manage
multi-network IM and P2P communications throughout their
enterprises. This announcement comes on the heels of attracting
$16million in venture capital investments, as well as many new
company developments during Q2, its most successful quarter to
date. (See related announcement, "FaceTime Communications Attracts
$16 Million in Financing…" distributed on PR Newswire today). In
addition, FaceTime achieved key corporate milestones that position
the company for continued market leadership. These milestones
include the launch of IMAuditor 5.0; the introduction of free
migration to IMAuditorTM for all AIM Enterprise Gateway (AIM-EG)
and AOL-certified management vendor customers; international
expansion including new partnerships in Asia Pacific, (APAC); and
the acquisition of an India-based development and quality assurance
organization. IMAuditor 5.0
In order to meet customers' growing demand for enhanced security,
management and compliance solutions FaceTime introduced IMAuditor
5.0. IMAuditor 5.0 expands on the company's award-winning and
market-leading IMAuditor by integrating with MSN Messenger Connect
for Enterprises to extend the enforcement of information security,
as well as corporate and regulatory compliance policies to instant
messaging occurring among employees, partners and customers outside
the corporate network. Additionally, IMAuditor 5.0 provides
anti-virus scanning of file transfers through its integration with
Symantec, Network Associates and Trend Micro while delivering EMC
Centera support for the central storage and management of IM, email
and other electronic data sources. "Southern needed a robust IM
solution that would address security, corporate and regulatory
compliance," said Mark Redman, manager of infrastructure for
Southern Company's Generation and Energy Marketing Information
Technologies division. "After a comprehensive competitive testing
and evaluation process, we chose the best-of-breed solution from
FaceTime. FaceTime is the only true secure and compliant solution
that will enable us to meet our stringent security needs as well as
ensure the appropriate use of IM throughout our wholesale
operations." Free Migration for AIM-EG and AOL-Certified
Management Vendor Customers
FaceTime has provided dozens of free upgrades for AIM-EG and
AOL-certified management vendor customers to ensure complete
regulatory compliance for multi-network, heterogeneous IM
environments. In addition to the free migration to IMAuditor,
FaceTime will continue to offer free technical support for all
AIM-EG customers, resellers and partners to protect their existing
enterprise IM investments and mitigate the need for immediate
migration. International Expansion
During Q2, FaceTime expanded its global reach with new
partnerships in Australia, Japan and Taiwan. Gresham Computing, a
leading software systems integrator in Australia; NEC System
Technologies LTD., an IT platform software developer, systems
integrator and subsidiary of NEC Corporation in Japan; and Solomon
Technology Corp., a leading content security solutions distributor
(through its System Applications Business Unit) in Taiwan will
resell FaceTime's industry-leading solutions in their respective
territories where the increasing use of IM and is generating demand
for security and compliance solutions that have support for
double-byte operating environments. Indian R&D
Organization
The acquisition of a Bangalore, India-based development and
quality assurance organization from messaging security solutions
provider Tumbleweed Communications will enable FaceTime to leverage
more than 50 additional product development resources to rapidly
increase product depth, shorten its development cycle and expand
its customer support organization. "In Q2, FaceTime has
demonstrated continued momentum and customer adoption across all
industries," said Kailash Ambwani, president and CEO of FaceTime
Communications. "The increasingly global demand for our technology
validates our market leadership."
