FaceTime Communications Acquires India-based Development Organization to Meet Growing Demand for Leading Solutions

Acquisition to Accelerate Product Development Cycle and Breadth by Expanding the Development and Go-to-Market Support Organizations

FOSTER CITY, Calif. and BANGALORE, India - June 14, 2004 - FaceTime Communications, the worldwide leader of solutions that secure, manage and extend instant messaging (IM) and other forms of real-time communications, today announced it has completed the acquisition of a Bangalore, India-based development and quality assurance organization from messaging security solutions provider Tumbleweed Communications. FaceTime will leverage the more than 50 additional product development resources to rapidly increase its product depth, shorten its development cycle and expand the customer support organization. "Our global expansion into India has dramatically raised the bar for competing in today's IM market," said FaceTime President and CEO Kailash Ambwani. "We will leverage the strong, congruous skill set and experience of our new resources to increase our market leadership by expanding our existing product lines, taking future products to market faster, and adding bench strength to our customer implementation and support programs." As part of the acquisition, Sridhar Vutukuri was appointed vice president and country head of FaceTime India and will be responsible for all day-to-day operations in Bangalore. Mr. Vutukuri was most recently country head at Tumbleweed Communications after holding key management and development positions at ValiCert, CyberCash and Tata Consulting. "The Bangalore team is comprised of expert technologists who know how to collaborate effectively with their U.S. counterparts to jointly develop and launch world-class real-time communications products," said Mr. Vutukuri. "This is an exciting time for IM, and an exciting time to be joining IM's clear market leader." Integrated Solution:
FaceTime Communications delivers the only integrated solutions that make instant messaging and other forms of real-time communication safe, secure and manageable in the enterprise. FaceTime's leading products IMAuditor and RTG500 work together to provide IT organizations with a layered approach that is essential to proper management and security of all IM and P2P communications. This "Defense-in-Depth" approach employs IMAuditor for IM user policy management on the internal network with RTG500 at the network perimeter to manage application behavior through deep inspection of network traffic for protocol analysis that distinguishes between authorized and unauthorized use.
