FOSTER CITY, Calif., Jan. 27, 2003 --
Furthering its established leadership as the premier provider of
enterprise software solutions that enable customers to safely
deploy and centrally manage real-time business communications,
FaceTime Communications today announced the immediate availability
of IMAuditor Enterprise to provide businesses with the ability to
centrally manage and control instant messaging communications
between employees, partners, and customers without requiring a
change to the existing messenger client or IM network community.
This next-generation, real-time communications management software
solution expands on the rapid market success of FaceTime's
IMAuditor product chosen by financial services organizations
required by government regulations to track, monitor, and report on
their IM communications. IMAuditor Enterprise extends the
regulatory compliance workflow features of IMAuditor to provide all
IT organizations with centralized detection, administration and
reporting for the entire enterprise. This enables businesses to
apply the power of real-time communications to critical business
processes while managing the information security risks associated
with its use. The robust scalability of IMAuditor Enterprise allows
organizations to extend traditional business policies to real-time
communications that are otherwise difficult to manage.
Organizations deploying IMAuditor Enterprise can now safely benefit
from the rapid adoption of real-time communication technologies
such as private and public instant messaging and Web text chat.
"Businesses which require speed to compete in their markets are
realizing the benefits of using instant messaging and other forms
of real-time communications to foster a richer collaborative
environment and quicker, personalized customer service," said
Robert Mahowald, research manager at IDC. "With security management
products like FaceTime's IMAuditor Enterprise, instead of blocking
employee use of instant messaging, IT departments can wield greater
centralized control over IM usage for maximum competitive advantage
with lower risk." New centralized control and risk management
functions provided by IMAuditor Enterprise include: Advanced
Corporate Directory Integration:
IMAuditor Enterprise further simplifies deployment by integrating
with corporate directories such as Microsoft Active Directory, Sun
ONE Directory and Lotus Domino. This facilitates automated mapping
of IM "buddy names" to authenticated employee IDs, significantly
reducing the risk of anonymous communications and transfer of
confidential information through IM fraud. Microsoft and FaceTime
have worked together in the past to deliver enterprise solutions in
the areas of call centers, eCRM, helpdesk, and regulatory
compliance. FaceTime has been selected as a Microsoft ISV to
interface with MSN Messenger Connect to provide advanced security,
management, control, logging, auditing and compliance capabilities
for all MSN enterprise users. As a result, all of FaceTime's
enterprise customers currently utilizing the MSN Messenger network
for business will be able to upgrade to the MSN Messenger Connect
service. Local Routing of Public IM Communications:
Communication between employees over public IM networks such as
AOL, MSN, and Yahoo! is routed internally over a set of IMAuditor
Enterprise servers deployed within the enterprise for complete
monitoring and control. This eliminates the risk of sensitive
information leaving the corporate network and being exposed outside
enterprise walls. Secure User Authorization:
Enterprises can assign authorization levels to employee IDs to
control electronic information flow across business units and
corporate ranks. This eliminates the potential risk of unauthorized
internal access to confidential information. Advanced Monitoring
and Intercept:
Enterprises can monitor, intercept and report on IM messages based
on business policies implemented automatically through a highly
sophisticated set of configurations. This distinctive capability
empowers enterprises with the ability to manage the risk of
inadvertent disclosure of sensitive information on multiple IM
networks. Enterprise Application Integration:
IMAuditor Enterprise's extensible gateway architecture enables
future integration capabilities for incorporating IM capabilities
such as real-time presence to other enterprise workflow
applications, including collaborative portals and customer service
applications. Compliance Auditing Workflow:
IMAuditor Enterprise seamlessly integrates to existing email
content scanning, natural language processors, and WORM drive
storage infrastructure in use within the financial services
community to ensure consistent and reliable processes that meet
regulatory compliance auditing workflow requirements. Through its
partnerships with iLumin Assentor, Entelagent, KVS, and Zantaz,
FaceTime provides a single comprehensive solution for enterprise
use of electronic text communications including email and instant
messaging. "IMAuditor Enterprise was designed with the help of our
financial services customers, which initially deployed IMAuditor
for regulatory compliance purposes but are now seeing rapid growth
of IM throughout the enterprise," said Glen D. Vondrick, FaceTime's
president and CEO. "IMAuditor Enterprise extends the strengths of
its predecessor by delivering the most comprehensive centralized
management and control solution for any business operating in a
time-sensitive environment, while helping to manage the information
security risks posed by the proliferation of real-time
collaboration technologies across the enterprise." IMAuditor
Enterprise is a software server solution installed behind
enterprise firewalls to support IM services from the world's
leading IM network providers, including AOL, Microsoft, IBM Lotus,
Yahoo!, Reuters, and Communicator Inc. IMAuditor Enterprise,
combined with the recently announced AOL AIM Enterprise Gateway
product, provides users with the only authorized gateway to the
world's largest IM network for a powerful, complementary solution
for managing multiple IM networks used in the enterprise. Over 50
current IMAuditor customers will automatically receive the new
IMAuditor Enterprise solution.
