FaceTime Wins Major Securities Firm Customer For Auditing Instant Messaging Networks Used in Business Communications

FaceTime's IMAuditor Chosen by Banc Of America Securities for SEC Compliance Controls

FOSTER CITY, Calif., December 11, 2001 -- FaceTime Communications, the premier provider of instant messaging for business, today announced that Banc of America Securities, a full-service investment bank and brokerage firm, has chosen FaceTime's IMAuditor product to enable real-time communications for its brokers and their customers. The result gives Banc of America Securities the ability to leverage the power of the public instant messaging networks from AOL, Microsoft and Yahoo! for time-sensitive business communications, while ensuring administrative controls are in place to comply with government regulations as Wall Street increasingly cracks down on untracked IM use. "Instant Messaging has become an important means of business communication," said Brad Adrian, Analyst with Gartner Financial Services. "Financial enterprises using instant messaging to conduct business must consider the critical need to log and audit those conversations." "Since FaceTime's release of IMAuditor, we've experienced a great demand from the financial services industry due to today's widespread use of the public instant messaging networks by brokers, traders, and their business associates," said Glen Vondrick, FaceTime's President and CEO. "Our continued success in working with leading firms in the financial services industry illustrates FaceTime's unique enterprise administration and compliance tools, and further establishes instant messaging as an important business application." FaceTime's unique licensing agreement with AOL Time Warner has enabled the company to be the first to deliver authorized solutions on the AOL AIM network. FaceTime's integration with AIM, MSN, and Yahoo! provides IT professionals with the confidence and security they need to allow access to the public IM networks via IMAuditor for regulatory compliance.
