Webcast: Don’t Dump the Life Preservers: Properly Capture and Archive Relevant 3.0 Data
A growing trend is for courts to require parties to produce IMs and other collaborative communications responsive to eDiscovery requests. (Saliga v. Chemtura Corp. and UPMC v. City of Pittsburgh). Courts have even sanctioned companies for failing to preserve relevant data in these newer forms. (Southeastern Mechanical Services v Brody and Convolve v. Compaq). Unfortunately, almost half the respondents polled in a 2013 Forrester Research and ARMA International Online Survey stated that they don’t have plans to capture the newer forms of data such as IMs or social/collaboration content in their organization.
