EMEA Internal Sales Engineer

Location:  Reading, UK

Actiance enables the safe and productive use of unified communications, collaboration, and Web 2.0, including blogs and social networking sites. Formerly FaceTime Communications, Actiance's award-winning platforms are used heavily in regulated industry such as Financial Services and more than 1,600 organizations globally for security, management, and compliance. Actiance supports all leading Social Networks, Unified Communications providers, and IM platforms, including Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, AOL, Google, Yahoo!, Skype, Microsoft, IBM, and Cisco.

Responsibilities:

  • All pre-sales activities required to achieve the technical win in order to help acquire new customers
  • Pre-sales support of EMEA sales team and partners (80%)
    • Assisting sales with technical queries, deal qualification etc
    • Presentation delivery, product demonstration & installation support, mainly via Webex / LiveMeeting, but occasionally on-site
    • Customer evaluation planning, management and support for Actiance's products
    • Competitive differentiation throughout the sales process
  • Some short-term post-sales consulting & training on-site or remotely (20%)
    • Attendance at events (trade shows, seminars etc)

Ideal Candidate Profile Experience and Background:

  • BSc / BA degree-educated with 5 years of relevant customer-facing Helpdesk / SE / Consulting experience
  • Well rounded technical individual with hands-on ability and broad set of skills / product knowledge
    • TCP/IP, HTTP/SSL, IDS/IPS, SMTP, SNMP, Windows, Linux, MS SQL, Oracle
    • Collaboration and Social media expertise with Microsoft OCS / Lync / Sharepoint, IBM Connections / Sametime, Facebook, Linkedin, Twitter or Cisco CUP
  • Hands-on product experience assisting the sales and/or support (especially into regulated industries) of the following types of products (examples in brackets):
    • email archiving (EVault, Autonomy); ILP/DLP (Vontu); Collaboration (Lync, CUP), Social Media (Jive, Connections, LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook); Network Security (Checkpoint, Websense, Bluecoat, MIMESweeper, Trend, McAfee)
  • Willingness and ability to travel nationally and internationally (Europe & USA) up to 25%
